Yoshin Ryu Jujitsu (Q&A)
Who Are We?
Who is Master Nate Wesner?
How do I achieve the Official Ranking by Certificate and Listing?
Answer: We are setting up a subscription site (www.yoshinryujujitsu.university) with all of the techniques up to the Shodan Level on it. You will be able to rank in person or by way of video up to the Student Black Belt Level. When you are ready to achieve your Shodan Level, (1st Degree Black Belt Level), you must come to the Main Academy and test in person. You may also sign up for several intense training days at the Main Academy before testing for your rank.
I see 2 new belt levels up to Shodan Level, why were they added?
Answer: First of all, it should take a Student from 3 to 5 years to rank up to the Shodan Level in Yoshin Ryu Jujitsu. You can start a Student on the adult boards at age 12. However, they must be age 16 before they can obtain Shodan Level ranking. We've taken some basic (and necessary) techniques off of the Nidan Level, and transferred them to the lower belts to make our Shodan's more well rounded in the art. We've added some more modern techniques to the Nidan Level to make the Instructor studying at this level more advanced. We have also taken some of the techniques off of the Nidan Level that would be ineffective in actual combat! The world evolves and so must we!
